Interlock is a sculpture focused on the visual, physical, and emotional imbalance of two interconnected objects. The work features a pair of concrete blocks interlocked via embedded U-shaped fluorescent light bulbs. Neither of these blocks can be separated from one another unless one of their lights is shattered. It takes the sacrifice of one block to allow the other the ability to be free and remain illuminated. Although the work remains brutalistic and industrial, it introduces the delicate emotional and physical sacrifices we make for the sake of another.
