Artist statement
Fingertools is a series of silicone rubber tools designed to be placed on the tips of your fingers. Given the rubber material that the tools are composed of, they are rendered useless tools. Not only that, but the tools are also sized proportionally to that of a finger, adding to their useless nature. These “tools” are considered an extension of the body, enabling to human body to be capable of completing more than normal. However, these tools do the opposite and questions the ideology of useful design. As a result the “tools” are more of an art object that reinforces the ideas of impractical art objects withinside the art world.
