Fluorescent bulbs, electrical components
Processing is a dynamic installation of eight fluorescent bulbs arranged in a circle. This immersive work is rooted in our cultural understanding of the throbber symbol. That loading icon is an animated graphical element used to show that a computer program is performing an action in the background (such as downloading content, conducting intensive calculations, or communicating with an external device). In contrast to a progress bar, the loading icon does not convey how much of the action has been completed. In turn, this artwork comments and questions our perception of time through means of meditation and patience. In doing so, we can learn more about how we interact with time and the cyclical nature of life as it relates to our physical and digital lives.
